Dr. Yating Chen received her PhD from the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, University of Malaya, and is currently a lecturer in the College of Foreign Languages at Huaqiao University, China. She has a broad research interest in narrative analysis and discourse analysis, particularly how discourse, identity and emotion interplay to realize different agendas in social media. Her work has been published in SSCI-indexed journals such as Discourse, Context & Media, Emotion, Space & Society and Text & Talk. She has also published one academic book with Springer Nature. In addition, she has led several research projects, including one National Social Science Foundation of China and two projects funded by the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research, Japan.
