Abstract:The article provides a research on the traditional architecture master carpenter’s design skill in the south of Fujian,which is so-called ”Gao-chi” design.Taking the Gao-chi, drawings and other relative objects from building Shi-shi-long-feng-tang which was designed by Shimeng Wang as example, the article is a recording, explanation and analytic research of Gao-chi artistry and a discussion of mentoring relationship and concept of Gao-chi which was entirely based on plentiful field surveys and master carpenter visits.
