Dr. Khalid Elbaz received his Ph.D. degree from School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Civil Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China (Ranking #51; QS-world university 2024). He is currently a Lecturer at College of Civil Engineering, Huaqiao University, Xiamen, China. Elbaz’s research focuses on developing machine and deep learning techniques to solve issues related to smart construction technologies and infrastructure systems. He has developed theoretical and applied research methods in computational structural mechanics and numerical methods in civil engineering works. At fine levels, he has developed physics based computational models for solving engineering problems to support sustainable and resilient infrastructures. He has published more than 40 SCI journal papers and received a talent project for foreign scientists based National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2023.
