摘要:To investigate the axial tensile performance of T-shaped joints (T-joints) incorporating concrete-filled plastic-lined steel tubes (CFPLST) as the chords and shaped steels as the webs, a series of axial tension tests were conducted and the results were discussed in this paper. Key parameters considered included the outer diameter ratio of web to chord, the strength grade of concrete within the chord, the dimensions of the fillet weld’s legs, and the sequence of web welding in relation to the concrete pouring process within the chord. A finite element analysis (FEA) model was further utilized to simulate these T-joints, with the simulation results subsequently agreed with the experimental data. The findings indicate a significant positive relationship between the T-joint’s axial tensile load-carrying capacity and several key parameters, i.e., the leg size of fillet weld, the outer diameter ratio of web to chord, and the steel content within the cross-section. With prudent engineering design, the specimens predominantly exhibit a shear failure mode in the chord under such loads. Furthermore, adopting a construction sequence that involves pouring concrete into the chord prior to welding the web has been demonstrated to mitigate the risk of insulation failure due to damage to the plastic lining layer from high temperature-induced melting and deformation. Ultimately, the study presents an enhanced calculation model for predicting the load-carrying capacity of CFPLST chords corresponding to shear failure.
