Abstract:Based on the analysis on European Spatial Development Perspective (ESDP): Towards a Balanced and Sustainable Development of the Territory of the European Union which issued by EU, through the review of the experience on interurban networks in Germany, it argues that the way of the tri-cities region of Xiamen, Quanzhou, and Zhangzhou of southern Fujian Province to achieve harmonious and sustainable development is to establish interurban networks according to the concepts of spatial planning. It also lists the main tasks of spatial development strategy of inter-city region in China and the key points of regional planners’ work.
